Salvador Vega Sr was one of the visionaries that brought Infrared Thermography down to Mexico.
His First contact with Infrared Thermography was in 1977 at Datatron in Mexico City. Falling in love immediately with the technology.
By 1980 he started his first business purchasing a Thermo Trace Infrared Scanner made by Barnes. His entrepreneur dream had started.
By 1983 he became AGA sales representative for the Mexican territory. selling his first camera to Celanese. For over more than a decade he sold over 300 units in Mexico to private and government industries. Becoming very famous at the oil, power, metal casting, and manufacturing industry in the whole country.
During this time, he met all the sales representatives for AGEMA in North America. They all were endearing friends to him, as he learned a lot from each of them. He was part of the great AGEMA Family.
By the year 2000 AGEMA and Flir Systems merged, where he continued as a sole sales representative in Mexico for 3 more years, selling during that period, over 100 cameras all over the country.
By 2003 he switched, along with some of the old AGEMA crew, to Mikron Infrared where he remained for over 10 years. During this time, he started to sell Infrared training courses to all the industry, inviting professional instructors like Fred Colbert, Ron Newport, John Snell and Jim Seffrin.
By 2018 a friend from the AGEMA team, Gary Strahan, invited him to be a sales representative in Mexico.
Salvador Vega Sr, age 73, passed away peacefully January 4th, 2020. due to kidney and heart disease. He was born August 5th, 1946 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
