This is the new version of www.ThermoSense.org, as of August 12, 2009.
The website is a volunteer effort and a significant switch has been made to update the user-friendliness of the site and hopefully enter a spam and hacker-free area of the Web.
Our last two versions of this site were hacked badly and we continue seeking a safer web home. The physical presence of this site changed in late August 2009 to a new server with hopefully even more safeguards against intruders.
All our member registrations were lost in the last change, but the key and historic content was saved. The latter will be recast as time and volunteer manpower permits. Meanwhile, feel free to rejoin (re-register) as a member and let us know of your interest.
We are “Organizing Forward” to keep a web presence alive and available for more communications among our regular and new contributors.
The software being used for the site is basically blogging software known as “WordPress”. It is by far the most user friendly and best supported Open Source software (in my opinion) and enables many members to easily contribute via comments and posts, plus guests are free to comment as well. It is being used here as Content Management Software (CMS), with the latest news from our Conference activities posted to the front page.
We can add forums and other major networking features, like private or member-only chat and messaging areas, that are required by the Committee. We can even have our own “Twitter Presence”, if there is interest.
Please note, however, that membership, posts & comments are reviewed prior to publishing and we can record and will ban IP addresses that violates simple web courtesy.
Thank you for your patience and contributions.
