Biography: Ray Peacock is a physicist, B. S from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass. and M.S from Northeastern University, Boston, Mass. He has been active in numerous technologies in and about optics, infrared and temperature measurement for over 25 years as: a Researcher on the bio-effects of laser radiation at the US Army Medical Research Labs; as Marketing Manager, Engineering & Production Manager, General Manager and V.P. of Engineering at Land Instruments, Inc. in Bristol, PA, from 1989 to 2001 as the Staff Temperature measurement specialist for LTV Steel Co. Inc, in their Technology Center, Independence Ohio, and now as President of his own consulting and web guide company, Temperatures.com, Inc., in Southampton, Pennslyvania, USA. Among his other activities, he helped the Infraspection Institute develop its Level II Thermography Training Course. He is a member of The Optical Society of America, SPIE, ISA (where he teaches the Course EI15 on Temperature Measurement), ASTM (where he has been Chairman of the Radiation Thermometry Subcommittee since 1982), NCSL, The National Conference of Standards Laboratories and AISE, The Association of Iron & Steel Engineers.
